Sariska Tiger Reserve, nestled in the Aravalli hills of Alwar, Rajasthan, is one of India's most iconic wildlife destinations. Spanning over 880 square kilometers, it is a vital part of India’s Project Tiger initiative and home to the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers, leopards, hyenas, jackals, and over 200 species of birds.
Once the private hunting ground of Alwar’s royal family, Sariska was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and later a tiger reserve in 1978. The reserve gained international attention as one of the first places where tigers were successfully relocated and reintroduced after local extinction.
Apart from thrilling jungle safaris and wildlife sightings, Sariska offers a spiritual and historical experience. The reserve is dotted with ancient temples and ruins including the famous Pandupol Hanuman Temple, Kankwari Fort, and Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, all nestled within dense forests and rugged terrain.
Whether you are a nature lover, photographer, spiritual seeker, or wildlife enthusiast, Sariska Tiger Reserve offers a perfect blend of adventure, heritage, and serenity.
