Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is a serene haven for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers, located near Bassi in the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan, approximately 25 km from Chittorgarh city and 5 km from Bassi Fort Palace. Established in 1988, it spans over 15,290 hectares on the western border of the Vindhyachal mountain ranges. The sanctuary encompasses the Bassi and Orai dams, adding to its ecological significance
The sanctuary features a dry deciduous forest dominated by species like Dhok, Churel, and Butea, along with various medicinal herbs and flowering plants.
Mammals: Panther, Wild Boar, Hyena, Jackal, Chinkara, Spotted Deer (Chital), Four-Horned Antelope, Porcupine, Langur, Wild Cat, Fox, Blue Bull (Nilgai), Hare.
Birds: Peacock, Cranes, Eagles, Hawks, Storks, Cuckoos, and migratory species.
Reptiles: Crocodiles.
Other Species: Mongoose, Civet
