Standing stark amidst the rugged Aravalli hills, Siliserh Lake is a testament to the vision of Maharaja Vinay Singh of Alwar. In 1845, this far-sighted ruler constructed an embankment on a tributary of the Ruparel River, creating this artificial lake. His purpose was clear: to provide water to the city of Alwar. The aqueducts that surround the lake still bear witness to this noble endeavour.
